Here is our Guide : Step by Step Guide How to change a ceramic disc valve in your Kitchen Tap
- This San Marco Valve has had many different codes in installation guides.
- It can be listed as 1427R , 2307R, 2552r and 3561R (for earlier versions)
- We use the code ‘4276R’ for our own stock control.
- Your own valve, if the original San Marco Valve, will have a White Seal. * Recently it has been manufactured with a Black Seal underneath. It is still being made to the original specifications which is the most important detail.
- Later versions of this valve came with Red and Blue seals and are called SMR 3561R.
- This valve is universal. It will work in old and newer models of any tap that takes this original valve or the later 3561R.
- There are also certain Tap models that have been manufactured using the later one threaded 3547R. If we recommend this valve here instead of the 3547R it is on advice of the manufacturer of your Tap.
Valve Bush:
- It can be a common enough problem that when you remove your Kitchen Tap Valve it looks different than the valve in the picture (or the Valve that you purchased from us).
- It is most likely because the brass bush is still attached. Please see gallery pictures for more examples.
- Here is the same Valve stuck inside the Brass Bush with recess 3868R.
- There is also a different bush, Bush 3886R with a lip.
- You need to re-order same Bush as the one in your own Tap if your own Valve and Bush are stuck together.
- There is One Bush per Valve but not every tap has two bushes. It depends on the Tap itself e.g the Carron Alba only has a bush on the hot side.
- If your own Bush looks different than the bush example here, then it can only be the 3408R 8 X 36mm or the 3409R 8 x 30mm .
- You can email us pictures and we can advise the correct parts.
Handle Allen Keys:
Usually models using this valve, if the handle is fitted with a grub screw , use either a 2mm (most common) or 2.5mm sized allen key. Here are the links to buy if required : 2mm allen key, 2.5mm allen key.
