Description
San Marco PC1 Tap Valve
SMR Valve 1212R / 3819R – WHAT VALVE TO ORDER?
(1) SMR 1212R
This Valve was originally produced with a White Seal (later with blue / red seal) and had ‘San Marco & Date or Code’ stamped on it. If your own Valve has two threads and looks like in the example below (even removing the handle only and comparing to our picture should tell you )
is stamped ‘San Marco + date’, and white seal underneath, then please order 1212R + white cold or hot here . Please note though that some of these earlier valves have been discontinued and we cannot guarantee an exact fit for much older taps due to the difference in the nut height between older discontinued valves and the current San Marco 1212R Valve that is available. e.g. Old Tap with valve stamped San Marco B01. We have found that due to a different height nut in the current 1212R Valve, there is in some models of this Tap a slight gap between the Handle and the Body. If you have one of these taps and fit our valve, you cannot return it once fitted because of a handle gap as we have flagged it in advance to you here. We do not accept returns back where a Valve has been fitted and we have flagged a potential issue due to it being a discontinued valve. If we don’t flag an issue then that is different.

1212R Valve Blueprint
SMR 1212R aka SMR 3984R
SMR 1212R aka SMR 3984R.In later years the 1212R has been produced with a coloured seal (Blue / Red) and is stamped ‘SMR & Date’. This can be referred to in Installation Guides as either 1212R or 3984R If you don’t have an installation guide but your own valve has ‘SMR + Date’ stamped on it and blue / red seal, then order same here.
(2) SMR 3819R
Later again, Taps now have the one threaded version of this valve, called 3819R, and stamped ‘SMR & Date’ . This is for Taps where the second thread is not required. (The second thread is usually used to hold a Valve Cover in place). The 1212R stamped SMR with blue / red seal is interchangeable in most taps with the 3819R valve i.e. you can substitute the 3819R with the 1212R BUT you cannot necessarily substitute the 1212R for the 3819R as some taps have a valve cover that requires a second thread.
The Hot Valve opens Clockwise. The Cold Valve opens Anti-Clockwise.
Brass Valve with ceramic discs :without thread.
Your tap might have the earlier two threaded version 3984R (1212R).
For the following Taps, we recommend replacing with the 1212R White seal : Averon, Emporia, Bristan Beeline, CDA TC55, CDA TC56 and CDA TF55 The 1212R valve with white seal looks a little different as it has two threads whereas the 3819R has one set of threads. It is the same height etc and the most important feature of this 1212R Valve is the larger white seal. If you replace your valve with a 3819R and your own Tap is one of the above listed, there is every possibility that your Tap will continue to drip. The 1212R White sealed valve should not drip , if it is a valve reason that is causing your drip to begin with. This link here will bring you to the 1212R Valve with White seal. ' as a replacement. If you are unsure, then just email us a picture of your own Tap and a picture of your own Valve and we will advise you before you place your order.

It can be a common enough problem that when you remove your Kitchen Tap Valve it looks different than the valve in the picture (or the Valve that you purchased from us). It is most likely because the brass bush is still attached.
Here is the 1212R Valve stuck inside the Brass Bush 3868R
There is a link at the end to purchase this Brass Bush 3868R
