Description

Rangemaster Vertex Tap Valve

The parts here are genuine. For example, we are now seeing our code 4276R referred to on other websites online in the UK. They are selling a ‘compatible’ valve which means it is not a ‘genuine’ valve. All our valves are coming from your Tap manufacturer to the original specifications.

Here is our Guide 7 Easy Steps to replace Kitchen Tap Valve .

Please read the valve information below before ordering.

Changing Valve : Additional Information.

Before replacing the cartridge, you will need to turn the water off. You will need to remove the handle retaining screw (1) by using a 2mm allen key. Once you’ve removed the handle (2), you will need to unscrew the valve cover retaining screw (3) by using a 2mm allen key.  This screw is on the underside. Once the valve cover (4) is removed, you can unscrew the existing valve (5) and replace with the new parts.

Earlier Installation guides list 2552R Valve. Then in subsequent ones it is referred to as 1427R (SP1427) and even later ones again 3561R (SP3561)- This are all the same valves. We supply the original version of this with the white seal underneath as it is largest seal available for your Tap and the older the Tap is, the more important it is to fit the largest seal possible as it mitigates against any possible Tap modifications made over the years to your Tap that a later Valve might not address in an Earlier Tap Model. This valve will come with a white seal underneath and is known as the 4276R. It is sourced from your Tap manufacturer and is recommended by them to use in older Taps. If your own Tap installation guide specifies a later valve, 3547R (SP3547) then you can order that. Where you do not know the age of your Tap, then you could order the 4276R. We cannot take responsibility for a dripping Tap after you fit a new Valve, if it transpires that you had the the earlier valve 2552R / 1427R and ordered the later one 3547R. We have provided here measurements and images of both valves for reference if you don\'t have your installation guide.

Please also see below regarding the Brass Bush Part as it might be relevant also. Here is our Guide How to remove the Handle on your Kitchen Tap. if you wish to remove your handle and email us some pictures. Here is our Guide 7 easy steps to replace kitchen tap valve.

Useful Tip

If your valve seems wider in diameter than the replacement valve you order, it is possible that the Brass Bush (Ring) that surrounds the valve inside your Tap has also come away with your Valve.

Should you also require a Brass Bush (one per valve), the same part number SP3886 is used on both Hot and Cold Valve.

Difference between Genuine and Compatible ?

To maintain your warranty and the longevity of your Tap you should replace any parts with only Genuine Spare Parts. "Genuine" means that it is coming from the manufacturer of your own Tap. You might see the word 'Compatible' used on other websites. You might even see same Part Code BUT "Compatible" means that it does NOT come from your own Tap manufacturer. Genuine Tap Parts means that the Parts have been tried and tested in your Tap model. It also guarantees that it will fit your own Tap correctly (provided that you have selected the correct replacement Part). We have had customers who fitted compatible parts in their taps and damaged other connecting parts in the process. It can work out more costly in the end to use Compatible parts.
