Rangemaster Aquaclassic 2 TAC2CM Valve from 2012 Onwards Hot or Cold
There is an earlier version of this tap with different handles and it takes a DIFFERENT VALVE. The most obvious difference is the number of splines (ridges) on top of the Valve. The current version has 28. The earlier version has 20 and can be found here.
- A Hot Valve opens Clockwise
- A Cold Valve opens Anti-Clockwise
On this link here you are buying the 28 splined 4276R valve with white or black seal underneath (stamped San Marco) as the seal is a little larger than later blue / red seals SMR

Rangemaster Aquaclassic 2 TAC2CM FAQ
- Is this a Genuine Rangemaster Tap part ? Yes it is . If you fit a compatible valve i.e not from your Tap manufacturer the replacement valve can end up slipping on your handle and damage the handle. You might need a new handle and another new valve.
- How do I know which Valve to order ? You need to determine where the drip is coming from e.g the cold water feed or the hot water feed. If in doubt, order a pair. There are more detailed tips / advice here.
- My Valve has a different coloured seal than the one you have sent me : Due to valve modifications over the years we supply the Tap Valve that covers all these changes.
- My tap is leaking at the base of the spout, not the top, what do I need? If your Tap is dripping where the Spout meets the Base then you need to replace your O Ring Kit.
- How do I access the Valve? You need a 2mm allen key to loosen the grub screw underneath the handle. See below for our DIY Guides.

Difference between Genuine and Compatible ?
To maintain your warranty and the longevity of your Tap you should replace any parts with only Genuine Spare Parts. "Genuine" means that it is coming from the manufacturer of your own Tap. You might see the word 'Compatible' used on other websites. You might even see same Part Code BUT "Compatible" means that it does NOT come from your own Tap manufacturer. Genuine Tap Parts means that the Parts have been tried and tested in your Tap model. It also guarantees that it will fit your own Tap correctly (provided that you have selected the correct replacement Part). We have had customers who fitted compatible parts in their taps and damaged other connecting parts in the process. It can work out more costly in the end to use Compatible parts.
