Howdens Lamona Rhone Tap3457 Valve FAQ
-
-
- Is this a Genuine Howdens Tap part ? Yes it is.
- How do I access the Valve? You need to remove the indicator at the side of the handle. Then a Philips screwdriver will remove the screw to free the handle for access to the valve.
- How do I know which Valve to order? You need to determine where the drip is coming from e.g cold water feed or hot water feed. If in doubt, order a pair. There are more detailed tips / advice here. This Blog post My Kitchen Tap is dripping should explain the most common causes (and parts required) to fix a dripping Kitchen Tap.
- My valve looks wider and completely different from the pictures here / the one I ordered ? Is the Bush stuck to your own Valve ? That is the round extra piece of Brass that surrounds the valve. Sometimes they can get stuck together and come out as one piece. See the images below. You can order the Bush part separately if needed. It is one Bush per Valve.
- How do I separate the Brass Bush from the Valve? Check out this guide here.
- My tap is leaking at the base of the spout, not the top, what do I need? If your Tap is dripping where the Spout meets the Base then you might need to replace your O Ring Kit.

This is a Genuine Spare Part you are buying here.
Difference between Genuine and Compatible ?
To maintain your warranty and the longevity of your Tap you should replace any parts with only Genuine Spare Parts. "Genuine" means that it is coming from the manufacturer of your own Tap. You might see the word 'Compatible' used on other websites. You might even see same Part Code BUT "Compatible" means that it does NOT come from your own Tap manufacturer. Genuine Tap Parts means that the Parts have been tried and tested in your Tap model. It also guarantees that it will fit your own Tap correctly (provided that you have selected the correct replacement Part). We have had customers who fitted compatible parts in their taps and damaged other connecting parts in the process. It can work out more costly in the end to use Compatible parts.
