Description
Lamona Garda Chrome Tap3521 Valve
In some very rare instances we have come across an old Garda Tap with 20 spline valve / 50mm tall, stamped San Marco Valve. You can remove your own handle and check the splines before ordering to ensure you purchase the correct part. In 99% of the Garda, it is the 28 spline valve. See image below showing the 20 spline and the 28 splines.
If you need to order the 20 spline valve, this is old 1212R Valve and you can order this here.
As this Tap was modified over the years, we supply the original white sealed valve to cover all modifications. The Hot Valve opens clockwise and the Cold Valve opens anticlockwise.
4276R Valve Dimensions:
- Nut Height: 8mm
- Splines: 28
- Overall height: 53mm
- Diameter at thread: 21mm
Useful Tip about the Bush
If you remove your Valve and it looks different than the valve in the picture, it is most likely because the brass bush is still attached. You will have to separate them OR buy a Brass Bush as well. For tips on how to separate a Valve from a Brass Bush, see here.
If your Lamona Garda Tap3521 Tap is dripping where the Spout meets the Base you might need to replace your O Ring Kit.
Howdens Garda Chrome Tap3521 Valve FAQ
- Is this a Genuine Howdens Tap part ? Yes it is.
- How do I access the Valve? You need a 2mm allen key to loosen the grub screw underneath the handle. See below for our DIY Guides.
- How do I know which Valve to order? You need to determine where the drip is coming from e.g cold water feed or hot water feed. If in doubt, order a pair. There are more detailed tips / advice here. This Blog post My Kitchen Tap is dripping should explain the most common causes (and parts required) to fix a dripping Kitchen Tap.
- My Valve has a different coloured seal than the one you have sent me? Due to modifications over the many years that this Tap has been in production, we supply the universal Garda Valve that covers all these changes. This is based on the manufacturer’s recommendations.
- My valve looks wider and completely different from the pictures here / the one I ordered ? Is the Bush stuck to your own Valve ? That is the round extra piece of Brass that surrounds the valve. Sometimes they can get stuck together and come out as one piece. See the images below. You can order the Bush part separately if needed. It is one Bush per Valve.
- How do I separate the Brass Bush from the Valve? Check out this guide here.
- My tap is leaking at the base of the spout, not the top, what do I need? If your Tap is dripping where the Spout meets the Base then you might need to replace your O Ring Kit.

Difference between Genuine and Compatible ?
To maintain your warranty and the longevity of your Tap you should replace any parts with only Genuine Spare Parts. "Genuine" means that it is coming from the manufacturer of your own Tap. You might see the word 'Compatible' used on other websites. You might even see same Part Code BUT "Compatible" means that it does NOT come from your own Tap manufacturer. Genuine Tap Parts means that the Parts have been tried and tested in your Tap model. It also guarantees that it will fit your own Tap correctly (provided that you have selected the correct replacement Part). We have had customers who fitted compatible parts in their taps and damaged other connecting parts in the process. It can work out more costly in the end to use Compatible parts.
