Genuine Franke Eiger Tap Cartridge SP3561

In earlier Installation Guides this part is referred to as 1427R. This is the Same Part. SP stands for Spare Part).

The Cold Valve opens Anti-clockwise. The Hot Valve opens Clockwise.

NB Please read below before ordering as there are similar taps out there that look like the Eiger Tap, e.g the Franke Valais (Stainless Steel)  but take completely different parts. Unless you have Franke Documentation or know for certain it is a Franke Eiger Tap, please check your own valve before ordering to avoid unncessary returns. Also please look at pictures of Valve shown with and without the Brass Bush attached before purchase.  The Brass Bush is sold as a separate item as it is not always needed.

Franke Eiger Tap Cartridge FAQ

  • Is this a Genuine Franke Tap part ? Yes it is . If you fit a compatible valve i.e not from your Tap manufacturer the replacement valve can end up slipping on your handle and damage the handle.  You might need a new handle and another new valve.
  • How do I know which Valve to order ? You need to determine where the drip is coming from e.g the cold water feed or the hot water feed. If in doubt, order a pair. There are more detailed tips / advice here.
  • My Valve has a different coloured seal than the one you have sent me : Due to valve modifications over the years we supply the universal Eiger Tap Valve that covers all these changes.
  • My valve looks wider than the one here ? Is the Bush stuck to your own Valve ? that is the round extra piece of Brass that surrounds the valve. Sometimes they can get stuck together and come out as one piece.  See the images below.  You can order the Bush part separately if needed. It is one Bush per Valve.
  • My Valve is completely different from the one here ?  See below to check that you actually have the Eiger Tap and not a lookalike Tap.

DIY Guides

Do you have the Franke Eiger Tap  ?

  1. Have you the Eiger tap ? Check to see if you have Eiger or a lookalike Tap ?
  2. Check  your own handle measurements to the Franke Eiger handle – Overall height – 89mm.  Lever  height only – 63mm.

  3. There are other ‘lookalike’ taps that take different valves.  Another way to check is to remove your handle and check what valve you have.  The Eiger Valve has 28 splines.

Below is another example. This valve has bush around it, 3868R so when you remove your own handle, then your valve / bush would look like this below. Ideally you would extract your valve only and leave the bush in The Tap.

The Bush Part Explained :

Please look at pictures of Valve shown with and without the Brass Bush attached before purchase.  The Brass Bush is sold as a separate item as it is not always needed.

It can be a common enough problem that when you remove your  Valve it looks different than the valve in the picture. It is most likely because the brass bush is still attached. See below images showing the Bush as a separate part and also stuck to the valve .

For tips on how to separate a Valve from a Brass Bush, see here.

If the Valve is stuck inside the Brass Bush then you will have to separate them OR buy a Brass Bush

This is a Genuine Spare Part you are buying here.

Difference between Genuine and Compatible ?

To maintain your warranty and the longevity of your Tap you should replace any parts with only Genuine Spare Parts. "Genuine" means that it is coming from the manufacturer of your own Tap. You might see the word 'Compatible' used on other websites. You might even see same Part Code BUT "Compatible" means that it does NOT come from your own Tap manufacturer. Genuine Tap Parts means that the Parts have been tried and tested in your Tap model. It also guarantees that it will fit your own Tap correctly (provided that you have selected the correct replacement Part). We have had customers who fitted compatible parts in their taps and damaged other connecting parts in the process. It can work out more costly in the end to use Compatible parts.

Straight forward replacement of old valve bodies. Note the new parts have an improved end cap at the contact point with tap body. No need to swap the new white caps with old Red/Blue caps. New valves fitted in twenty minutes – job done – problem solved.
Ordered late Saturday afternoon, arrived Mid morning Monday. Best delivery service I’ve had!
