The valve 3982R is listed in later installation guides which is similar to the valve 3540R with red or blue seal.

Nut Height: 4mm
Splines: 28
Overall height: 45mm
Diameter at thread: 20mm

Valve Removal Guide:

You will need a 2.5mm allen key to remove handle.
When the tap handle and the plastic collar within has been removed only the splined end of the valve is accessible.
The 17 mm hex end of the valve is visible but is just too far within the tap body to take an open-ended spanner or a ring spanner.
It does not sit within a removable sleeve on this Franke Cresta tap.
You will need a 17 mm socket or box spanner to change this cresta valve.
