Description
Franke Corinthian Filterflow Tap Valve
3984R (1212R) Hot or Cold with 20 splines
Some earlier versions of this Installation guide might specifiy 1427R valve, 28 splines, but we believe that this is an error in the guide.
However, if you have Corinthian dating back to very early stages of production i.e from c. 2011 (and you are sure it is the Filterflow version i.e the letters F / H and C are on your levers rather than coloured indicators) you can always easily remove your own handle to check before buying. There is a guide below that gives detailed instructions and diagram.
Here are the instructions again
- You will need to unscrew the indicator by unscrewing
it anticlockwise. - You can then unscrew the handle retaining
screw by using a cross head screwdriver. - Once the handle is removed, you can unscrew the valve cover by
unscrewing it anticlockwise. - You will then be able to unscrew the cartridge by using an adjustable spanner.
If you have coloured indicators on your levers then you have the Corinthian Triflow Tap which takes a different valve which can be found here.
1427R measurements
Nut Height: 8, Splines: 28, Overall height: 53mm, Diameter at thread: 21mm
1212R / 3984R measurements:
Height 50mm / Diameter at thread 21mm / Splines 20 / Nut Height 8mm
For the Filterflow Tap, even Later installation guides specify 3984R / SP3984 Valve that comes with red / blue seal. This would have same measurements as the 1212R. We supply the earlier original valve 1212r with white seal as this then covers earlier to later production of this Tap. The hot valve opens clockwise. The Cold valve opens anticlockwise.
Brass Valve with ceramic discs.
The Corinthian Triflow also takes a 20 spline valve but do not confuse this with the 20 spline valve version here. The Triflow has coloured indicators on the top of the handles whereas the Filterflow Tap has Letters H / C / F on the handles.
Also, sometimes the valve and bush come out stuck together (the bush is the wide brass part). If you cannot remove your own bush to reuse, then you will need to order this as well.
This is a Genuine Spare Part you are buying here.
Difference between Genuine and Compatible ?
To maintain your warranty and the longevity of your Tap you should replace any parts with only Genuine Spare Parts. "Genuine" means that it is coming from the manufacturer of your own Tap. You might see the word 'Compatible' used on other websites. You might even see same Part Code BUT "Compatible" means that it does NOT come from your own Tap manufacturer. Genuine Tap Parts means that the Parts have been tried and tested in your Tap model. It also guarantees that it will fit your own Tap correctly (provided that you have selected the correct replacement Part). We have had customers who fitted compatible parts in their taps and damaged other connecting parts in the process. It can work out more costly in the end to use Compatible parts.
