Description

Franke Bern Tap Valve

Replace if your Tap is dripping from the Spout.

Here is our Guide: Changing the SMR Mini Valve.

You will need a 2.5mm allen key to remove the handle.

In recent installation guides this valve 3308R (133.0150.219 Cold /130.0120.220 Hot) is called 3794R (133.0358.053 Hot /133.0358.055 Cold).
It is the same valve.

  • Measurements: Splines: 28 / Nut Height: 9mm
3794r and earlier 3308r

Please note that earlier installation guides used the letter R at the end of the part code, and later installation guides used the letters SP at the start of the part code.  i.e. 3794R = SP3794 and 3308R = SP3308.

Please Note: Some customers find it difficult to remove the earlier SP3308 Valve (133.0150.219 Cold /130.0120.220 Hot) which has 2 flat sides on the nut.  You can buy a special tool from the Franke Bern Manufacturer to remove it here.

The Hot and Cold Valve are not interchangeable as one opens clockwise and the other opens anti-clockwise.

Recently we have noticed that the new valve is a little stiffer to push the handle onto. We have reported this back to the manufacturer but they assure us that there have been no changes of any consequence and it is just to do with the tolerance on the machining of the valves. If this does occur just ensure that your own handle is clear inside of any residual debris and that you push the handle on and off the new valve a few times to loosen the splines slightly. You won’t damage your handle.

Tightening your valve: We would also recommend that you do NOT over-tighten this valve. As a rule of thumb, tighten as far as physically possible by hand, and then tighten 1/4 turn with an adjustable spanner.

This is a Genuine Spare Part you are buying here.

Difference between Genuine and Compatible ?

To maintain your warranty and the longevity of your Tap you should replace any parts with only Genuine Spare Parts. "Genuine" means that it is coming from the manufacturer of your own Tap. You might see the word 'Compatible' used on other websites. You might even see same Part Code BUT "Compatible" means that it does NOT come from your own Tap manufacturer. Genuine Tap Parts means that the Parts have been tried and tested in your Tap model. It also guarantees that it will fit your own Tap correctly (provided that you have selected the correct replacement Part). We have had customers who fitted compatible parts in their taps and damaged other connecting parts in the process. It can work out more costly in the end to use Compatible parts.
