Description
Carron Phoenix Opus Tap Valve 1212R or 3984R
Carron Phoenix Opus Tap Valve Measurements:
- Height: 50mm
- Diameter at thread: 21mm
- Splines: 20
- Nut Height: 8mm
This tap has been in production for over 2 decades. While both valves have the same measurements, the 1212R valve has a white seal and the later 3984R valve has a blue or red seal. We advise you to check the colour of the seal and the stamp on your own valve prior to ordering. If your own valve is stamped San Marco / white seal , order the 1212R. If your own valve is stamped SMR / blue or red seal, you can order the 3984R .
If you do not know which is in your own tap, then please buy the earlier 1212R white sealed valve. This has a slightly larger seal than the later 3984R valve and we would recommend it for older tap models and it will guarantee, that irrespective of which version is in your own tap, you will be ordering a replacement valve that will work.
The later red / blue sealed 3984R version will not be as effective in older tap models. If you order the red / blue sealed 3984R and your tap continues to drip and it transpires that you had the older 1212R White sealed valve version, then this would not come under warranty because you had not replaced your old valve with the correct valve per our recommendations.
This is a Genuine Spare Part you are buying here.
Difference between Genuine and Compatible ?
To maintain your warranty and the longevity of your Tap you should replace any parts with only Genuine Spare Parts. "Genuine" means that it is coming from the manufacturer of your own Tap. You might see the word 'Compatible' used on other websites. You might even see same Part Code BUT "Compatible" means that it does NOT come from your own Tap manufacturer. Genuine Tap Parts means that the Parts have been tried and tested in your Tap model. It also guarantees that it will fit your own Tap correctly (provided that you have selected the correct replacement Part). We have had customers who fitted compatible parts in their taps and damaged other connecting parts in the process. It can work out more costly in the end to use Compatible parts.
