If your valve looks like this in the image below, then the brass bush is still attached and you will need to separate and reuse with the new valve, or if you cannot separate, then buy a new brass bush as well. It would be one bush per valve.
For more about changing a valve and the brass bush (ring) coming away with your old valve, please read here..
If you do need to order a Brass Bush please check which one you have (or order both with a view to returning the one that you don’t need) as the original brass bush would be the 36mm 3408R and the later bush is the 30mm 3409R.
I don't know what Valve I need to fix my dripping Tap is a useful guide if you don't know what Valve you need to fix your Dripping Tap. There are other useful guides in our 'Helpful Tips' section such as the 'How to' section which includes DIY guides on changing valves, cartridges etc. These might be useful if you need to remove the handle (7 easy steps to replace a kitchen valve) or lever (How to replace a Cartridge on your single lever tap) on your tap in order to see what your own Tap Part looks like before you compare to ours. Difference between Genuine and Compatible ?
To maintain your warranty and the longevity of your Tap you should replace any parts with only Genuine Spare Parts. "Genuine" means that it is coming from the manufacturer of your own Tap. You might see the word 'Compatible' used on other websites. You might even see same Part Code BUT "Compatible" means that it does NOT come from your own Tap manufacturer. Genuine Tap Parts means that the Parts have been tried and tested in your Tap model. It also guarantees that it will fit your own Tap correctly (provided that you have selected the correct replacement Part). We have had customers who fitted compatible parts in their taps and damaged other connecting parts in the process. It can work out more costly in the end to use Compatible parts.
