Description
Rangemaster Aquaquad Dual Lever TAQ2 Tap Valve
This post covers both types of mini valves that were (and are) used in the production of your Tap. and gives advice regarding tools to extract your valve. We currently stock both genuine San Marco / SMR valves .The Hot opens clockwise and the Cold opens anti-clockwise.
Do you need a special tool to remove your Valve ? : Check which Valve is in your own tap before removing in case you have the earlier 3308R version in your Tap. Its all covered, including pictures of both Valves, in our Guide here: Changing the SMR Mini Valve.which includes advice on how to remove either valve. No Brass Bush is required with this Tap Valve. Here below is the 4013R Removal Tool Product if you have the earlier 3308R (SP3308) and want to order it. The 4013R Tool does NOT fit the 3794R (SP3794) with the six sided nut.
Recently we have noticed that the new valve is a little stiffer to push the handle onto. We have reported this back to the manufacturer but they assure us that there have been no changes of any consequence and it is just to do with the tolerance on the machining of the valves. If this does occur just ensure that your own handle is clear inside of any residual debris and that you push the handle on and off the new valve a few times to loosen the splines slightly. You won’t damage your handle.
Tightening your valve: We would also recommend that you do NOT over-tighten this valve. As a rule of thumb, tighten as far as physically possible by hand, and then tighten 1/4 turn with an adjustable spanner.
If your Rangemaster Aquaquad Dual Lever TAQ2 Tap is dripping where the Tap Spout meets the Base you might need to replace your O Ring Kit.

Difference between Genuine and Compatible ?
To maintain your warranty and the longevity of your Tap you should replace any parts with only Genuine Spare Parts. "Genuine" means that it is coming from the manufacturer of your own Tap. You might see the word 'Compatible' used on other websites. You might even see same Part Code BUT "Compatible" means that it does NOT come from your own Tap manufacturer. Genuine Tap Parts means that the Parts have been tried and tested in your Tap model. It also guarantees that it will fit your own Tap correctly (provided that you have selected the correct replacement Part). We have had customers who fitted compatible parts in their taps and damaged other connecting parts in the process. It can work out more costly in the end to use Compatible parts.
