Franke Olympus Tap dripping…

If your Franke Olympus Tap is dripping

1. Check valves if your Tap is dripping from the Tip of the Spout (Aerator end) or Handle. You will need a 2mm allen key to remove the handle.
2. Examine the Spout base for worn O Rings or pinholes in your Spout if the tap is dripping there. You will need either a 2mm sized allen key (for the oldest models) or a 2.5mm sized allen key (for later models). Pack of both sizes available here.
3. Turn off water supply before you remove any parts.

The Franke Olympus Tap has various models produced from Oct 2002 to March 2019.  Links to specific models are provided at the end for correct parts ordering.

Your Franke Olympus Valve in more detail:

• Look for ‘San Marco’ or ‘SMR’ stamped on the valve nut.
• We offer genuine replacement valves without the need for measurement. 
• Valves are quarter turn with ceramic discs, also known as  Glands.
• Hot and Cold valves are NOT interchangeable, opening in different directions. A Hot Valve opens Clockwise and a Cold Valve opens Anti-Clockwise. We would never recommend trying to swop parts around as is sometimes advised on websites selling ‘compatible’ parts.  The more you disassemble a valve the more likely that you will affect the performance of the Valve. No manufacturer who manufactures Taps would advise doing this. 
• For the Franke Filterflow Olympus Tap the same Cold Valve is used in both the Cold ‘mains’ and Cold ‘filtered’.
• We offer the original ‘San Marco’ version due to changes internally in this Tap over the years of production.  This ‘San Marco’ stamped valve is specifically designed to cover all years of production. The seals come in white or black, distinguishing between Hot (CO) and Cold (ACO) valves easily. The Hot Valve has a nick on the nut sides and 28 splines (teeth).

Olympus Brass Bush

Franke Olympus Brass Bush 3868R

Valve Bush and Valve removed together as if one piece.

Separate the bush from the valve if needed or purchase a new bush. The common bush for Olympus is 3868R with recess shown in the images above.

The only bush we do not stock is the earliest bush.

Olympus Spout O Rings:

• The O Ring Kit 1425R (on some Olympus Installation guides as 3627R) Is used for Franke Olympus Tap, Side Spray Tap, Filterflow Olympus & the Franke Specialist Range Olympus Springflow.
• This O Ring Kit 1425R includes 2 grub screws to fit the different size screws used over the years. A smaller white ptfe ring is present in newer models for stability. If you have an older Olympus Spout , just discard this smaller ring.

• Use a 2.5mm allen key, or a 2mm allen key for early models.  Here is the pack of both.

If your spout has a pinhole, replace the entire spout. We stock these genuine spouts, available for the different Olympus Tap models. You can find your replacement part below.
