  • Never attempt to loosen a grub screw with the wrong size allen key.
  • You might round off the screw and it might become stuck.
  • If your screw becomes stuck in the handle then the only option is to drill out the screw and replace entire handle..
  • If removing your Grub screw, always keep a towel or cloth underneath to catch it as it is tiny.
  • Your Tap Handle might be held into a brass screw that is screwed into the Valve and then concealed with an indicator .

Your Spout & Grub screw

  • If your Tap has a grub screw holding in the spout , this is located behind the spout.
  • You might need to use your phone light or camera to locate this if its hard to access.
  • Some very old Taps, e.g Franke Davos c. 1990, had spouts that had a twist and push into place design.
  • Later Taps use a locking nut or a grub screw.
  • All the new O Ring Kits we supply for Tap Spouts include the grub screw.
