Franke Planar Tap Valve Removal Guide
Franke Planar Tap Valve Removal Guide
All the parts referred to below, with links, are Genuine Franke Spare Parts.
Summary :
- Check valves if your Tap is dripping from the Tip of the Spout (Aerator end) or Handle.
- Examine the Spout if your Tap is dripping from around the base of the spout. You will be looking for worn O Rings or holes in the spout itself.
The Franke Planar Tap has various models produced from 2005 to March 2018. Over this time period the Valve changed from initially a 20 spline valve to then a 28 spline valve. We have included images at the end to illustrate the various valves used and advice as to which genuine parts to buy as replacements.

Troubleshooting and Images of all three valves used in Planar Tap with or without the bush
1. If you have Planar Valve with 20 Splines (the oldest variation) ? Buy the 3549R Valve
This Valve is discontinued but customers have bought the 3549R. It looks a little different, but it fits.
Handle Insert : Remove the handle insert to reuse by undoing the screw at the top of the old valve that holds the handle insert in place.
2. If you have Planar Valve with 28 Splines, and two sets of threads, 2307R (second variation) Buy 2307R (4276R) Valve.
3. If you have Planar Valve with 28 Splines and one set of threads 3547R (the third variation) Buy 2307R (4276R) Valve based on the manufacturer’s recommendation.
We do stock the genuine 3547R valve but it is based on the manufacturers advice for this particular design of tap that the 2307R (4276R) valve is still the better option. Please remember that it will look different from your own valve.
Planar Valve Bush
Sometimes in the process of removing Franke Planar Tap Valve the Brass Bush Part can be removed alongside the Valve. This Part is SP3886 (aka 3886R with lip).
If you cannot separate the Brass Bush from your old valve then you will need a new one.
