Different Valves used in Kitchen Taps
Here below are examples of actual Valves in Taps to assist with Identification (or check) and some additional information to assist you in making the correct purchase. Remember, you can always return any unused parts or email us sales@tapsandsinksonline.co.uk for further advice / help. We are used to reviewing taps and parts and can quickly assist to make it easier for you. It is as much to our advantage as to you to assist you in ordering the correct part so we really do not mind reviewing images. Where we receive an image from one customer, we might then put up on our website (just a cropped image close up of the part itself) to assist another customer. The more information we can share with our DIY customers, the easier it is to make the correct purchase at the start. Of course if for whatever reason you would not like us to reuse part of an image, please just include this in any pictures you email us. Examples of cropped images are below.
We are showing the Valve in situ in the Kitchen Tap i.e. Handle removed. This shows you the Spline count and if you are unable to remove fully your own valve to check which valve is inside your own Tap, this might be of further assistance to you.
Some Taps have an extra piece of circular Brass (called a Bush) that surrounds the Valve i.e. the space between the body of the Tap and the Valve is filled with an additional piece of Brass. Some Taps have this and some do not. If your Tap has a Bush as well as a Valve that does not mean that you will need to buy as Bush as well. Sometimes the Bush is stuck to the Valve and sometimes it is not. Where your Tap has a Bush as well as a Valve you could try and remove the Valve prior to ordering to see if the Bush comes out stuck to the Valve or not. Where you have a Bush and you are getting a plumber, you could order the Bush as well as the Valve with a view to returning it if not required.
If in doubt after reviewing here, then email sales@tapsandsinksonline.co.uk information e.g. your own Tap pictures, Your own Tap Part if removed, together with any other useful information e.g approx Tap age (this might have some influence on which valve we would actually recommend to you based on our knowledge of modifications to certain Taps made over the years requiring a different Valve from even the one that you remove from your Tap [based on Manufacturers recommendations e.g. The Maya Tap, whether you have the 3561R (4276R) or the 3547R , the manufacturer recommends to always replace with the 3561R (4276R).
Example of 3547R Valve (28 spline valve, c.53mm tall)
Example of 4276R (same as 1427R / 2307R / 2552R and earlier 3561R [later 3561R come with red and blue seals but if your tap is c.2013 or older we recommend earlier white sealed version e.g. 4276R)
